About
My name is Izzy. My pronouns are he/they, and I’m a 23-year-old who wants to make a difference with my writing. I am a Florida International University graduate with a B.S. in Digital Journalism, and I live in Minneapolis. I have written for WSFL, Miami New Times, ArtSpeak, PantherNow, Caplin News, Bring Me The News, and Racket.

Get to know me
I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, to Cuban and Colombian parents. I am blessed to be fluent in both English and Spanish and have no issue writing in either. I discovered my love for writing in elementary school, and when I finished the eighth grade, I decided I would be a journalist. I was a Yearbook editor at my high school, as well as a writer for their newspaper.
I have since graduated from Florida International University in 2024 with a B.S. in Digital journalism and a B.A in Theatre. During my time at FIU, I have written for multiple publications. I have written for FIU’s PantherNow, their student newspaper, Caplin News, the Journalism department’s official website, and FIU’s art journalism site, ArtSpeak. I have also worked for local news sites, such as a Production intern in 2022 for WSFL’s “Inside South Florida” TV show, Miami New Times, and have recently written for Bring Me The News and Racket in Minneapolis.
I enjoy writing, playing music, acting and more. Jack of all trades master at, some? Who knows. When I am not working I am probably either listening to music, or playing guitar.
